Everglades City was recently designated one of eight Trail Towns in the State of Florida. Nestled among National and State parks you will find Everglades City and Chokoloskee. Long before the area was set aside as National and State parks the area was alive with visitors coming to the first county seat in Collier County, Everglades City. In an earlier time, the only way to Chokoloskee Island was by boat. Today it is commonly said that Chokoloskee is at the end of the road when traveling southwest Florida. Today visitors come from all over the world. The beauty of the Everglades is all around the quiet yet quaint towns of Everglades City and Chokoloskee.
